Stake ETH on L2s via the Lido staking UI

Direct Staking on Ethereum L2s with Lido

You can directly stake ETH or wETH on Arbitrum, Base, Linea and Optimism through the Lido staking UI and receive wstETH on the same network, without manually bridging to Ethereum and back.

How to stake

  1. Visit stake.lido.fi and connect your wallet.

  2. Select the supported L2 where you hold ETH. If prompted, approve the network switch in your wallet.

  3. Select token to stake (ETH or wETH) and enter the amount you want to stake. If you stake ETH, leave enough for transaction fees.

  4. Submit the transaction by confirming it in your wallet.

Once the transaction is confirmed and executed, you will receive wstETH on the same L2.

How does it work?

Your ETH is exchanged for wstETH from a dedicated liquidity pool on your selected L2. The exchange rate is determined by a Chainlink price feed that reflects the exchange rate provided by the Lido protocol.

Behind the scenes, ETH collected in the pool is periodically bridged to Ethereum through Chainlink CCIP and staked through the Lido protocol. The resulting wstETH is then bridged back to replenish the L2 pool. You don’t need to perform these steps yourself.

What if there isn’t enough liquidity?

The amount you can stake depends on the wstETH available in the pool. If your amount exceeds the available liquidity, try a smaller amount or wait for the pool to be replenished automatically.

For more technical information, see the Chainlink direct staking documentation.
