What is Lido's wstETH?

Some DeFi protocols do not support rebasing tokens natively. To prevent your stETH from losing value, wrap stETH and receive wstETH.

Why would I wrap my stETH?

You can wrap your stETH tokens using stake.lido.fi/wrap. Simply connect your wallet, unlock your stETH tokens and press Wrap.

How can I wrap/unwrap my stETH?

No, you do not need to claim any Ethereum staking rewards with Lido - staking rewards accrue to wstETH automatically.

Do I need to claim my staking rewards if I wrap stETH to wstETH?

Wrapped stETH does not rebase but the stETH in the wrapper contract rebases at 12PM UTC every day.

Why does the amount of wstETH in my wallet differ from the amount of stETH I wrapped?
