Bridging wstETH To Linea

A guide to bridging your staked ETH to Linea

Updated this week

Linea is an Ethereum rollup with Zero-Knowledge Proofs powered by Consensys. Bridge your wrapped staked ETH to Linea in just a few clicks.

Bridging wstETH to Linea

The process allows you to transfer your wstETH to Linea in just a few minutes. Here's how it works:

Before you get started, make sure you are working with Lido's wrapped staked ETH (wstETH). To wrap your ETH or stETH to wstETH, visit stake.lido.fi/wrap. Also, make sure you have ETH on Linea to pay for gas fees.

  1. Visit bridge.linea.build and select NATIVE BRIDGE FOR TECH OPERATORS.

  2. Connect to your wallet and verify the bridge is set to Ethereum to Linea Mainnet.

  3. Initiate a deposit on Ethereum. Select wstETH in the token list and the amount you would like to deposit. After approving the allowance, confirm the deposit transaction. Once the transaction is confirmed, you will view the transaction details (e.g. status) in the Recent transactions section.

  4. Claim funds on Linea. You have to claim your wstETH manually once the token arrives at Linea. It normally takes up to 20 minutes. To claim it, press “CLAIM FUNDS” in your transaction part. This step requires ETH on Linea for gas fees.

Once the claim transaction is confirmed, you can view your wstETH balance in your wallet. If the wallet doesn’t auto detect your wstETH, you can manually import wstETH on Linea using the contract address: 0xB5beDd42000b71FddE22D3eE8a79Bd49A568fC8F

Frequently Asked Questions

Below you will find answers to the most common questions.

wstETH (wrapped stETH) is a non-rebasing version of Lido's stETH where your balance remains constant and network rewards accrue in the form of increased wstETH price (unlike stETH, where your balance increases on a daily basis).

How do I get wstETH?

To get wstETH, you can wrap your stETH or ETH on stake.lido.fi/wrap.

Are there any bridging fees?

Network fees are required to pay for the gas costs on Ethereum and Linea. There are no extra fees specifically for using Linea native bridge.

How can I view my wstETH balance on Linea in my wallet?

If the wallet doesn’t auto detect your wstETH, you can manually import wstETH on Linea into your wallet using the contract address: 0xB5beDd42000b71FddE22D3eE8a79Bd49A568fC8F.

How long does it take to bridge?

Depositing to Linear typically takes around 20 minutes. Withdrawing from Linea to Ethereum takes between 8 and 32 hours.
