Vault Overview: Decentralized Validator Vault (DVV)

Earn while supporting Ethereum decentralization

Updated this week

What is DVV?

The Decentralized Validator Vault (DVV) allows users to earn Ethereum staking rewards while directly supporting validator decentralization on the Lido network. In addition to base staking rewards, DVV participants receive boosted incentives from Distributed Validator Technology (DVT) providers.

DVV is implemented by Mellow Protocol and channels deposits into Lido’s DVT-supporting modules: Curated Module, Simple DVT Module, and Community Staking Module. This helps expand the share of distributed validators in the Lido node operator set, improving Ethereum network resilience.

Incentives are provided by Obol and SSV Network to encourage the adoption of DVT. Over 75% of these rewards are directed to vault stakers, with the remainder allocated to node operators maintaining the infrastructure.

Using DVV

  1. Connect your wallet.

  2. Deposit ETH or WETH.

  3. Receive DVstETH tokens, representing your share in the vault. These accrue Ethereum staking rewards, Obol and SSV incentives, plus Mellow points.

  4. When ready to exit, withdraw DVstETH back to wstETH.

  5. Claim earned rewards through the Obol Incentives Program and SSV Rewards.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the Decentralized Validator Vault (DVV)?

The Decentralized Validator Vault (DVV) provides staking rewards boosted by Distributed Validator Technology (DVT) provider incentives while supporting Lido node operator decentralization.

2. What tokens can I deposit into DVV?

ETH and WETH are supported at launch.

3. What do DVstETH tokens represent?

DVstETH tokens represent your share in the vault, allowing you to reuse the vault tokens across the DeFi ecosystem.

4. How do I claim additional rewards?

Obol and SSV rewards are claimable through their respective incentive programs. Links and instructions are available within the Earn interface.

5. Why does DVV matter for decentralization?

By routing deposits to DVT-enabled modules, DVV strengthens the resilience of the Lido validator set, reduces concentration risk, and supports the long-term health of Ethereum.

6. Can I withdraw anytime?

Yes. You can withdraw your asset from either vault at any time.

7. What are the risks?

As with all staking and DeFi products, risks include smart contract vulnerabilities, protocol-level risks, and potential variability in incentive program terms.
