Bridging wstETH To Zircuit

A guide to bridging your staked wstETH to Zircuit

Updated over 2 months ago

Zircuit is an EVM-compatible zero-knowledge rollup built on Ethereum. It combines established infrastructure with zero-knowledge proofs to deliver faster transactions, reduced fees, and enhanced security.

Bridging wstETH to Zircuit

Before you get started, make sure you are working with Lido's wrapped staked ETH (wstETH). To wrap your ETH or stETH to wstETH, visit stake.lido.fi/wrap.

  1. Visit the Zircuit Bridge: Go to bridge.zircuit.com and connect your Ethereum wallet (e.g., MetaMask).

  2. Select wstETH from the dropdown and pick the amount to deposit.

  3. Review the bridging info and approve the transaction on the Zircuit interface.

  4. Review the transaction details on your Ethereum wallet and confirm the deposit by signing the transaction. This will require a small gas fee in ETH.

  5. Wait for Confirmation: The bridging process typically takes only 15 seconds. You can see the status of the transaction under Recent transactions, at the bottom of the page.

Withdrawing wstETH from Zircuit

A complete withdrawal requires several steps and takes approximately 6 hours due to the rollup's processing time and a mandatory finalization period of 5 hours.

  1. Visit the Zircuit bridge at bridge.zircuit.com and connect your Ethereum wallet (e.g., MetaMask).

  2. Select wstETH as the token you wish to bridge and enter the amount you want to transfer back to Ethereum mainnet.

  3. Confirm the transaction in your wallet to initiate the withdrawal. Gas fees in ETH will be required.

  4. After approximately 1 hour, revisit the Zircuit bridge to prove your withdrawal. This step is necessary to confirm and validate the withdrawal on the Ethereum network.

  5. Wait for approximately 5 hours. This period allows the network to process and secure your withdrawal through the rollup's finalization process.

  6. After the waiting period, revisit the Zircuit bridge to finalize the withdrawal of your wstETH on Ethereum.

You can find more information on the Zircuit website.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is wstETH?

wstETH (wrapped stETH) is a non-rebasing version of Lido protocol's stETH. Unlike stETH, where your balance is adjusted daily to reflect the accrued staking rewards, wstETH keeps your balance constant. Instead, staking rewards are reflected in an increase in the value of wstETH over time.

How do I get wstETH?

You can obtain wstETH by wrapping your stETH or ETH by using the Lido protocol at stake.lido.fi/wrap.

Are there any bridging fees?

Yes, you'll need to cover network fees to pay for gas costs. On Ethereum, these fees are paid in ETH, and on Zircuit, they are paid in ETH as well. There are no additional fees specifically for using the Zircuit bridge.

How long does it take to bridge?

Bridging from Ethereum to Zircuit typically takes around 15 seconds.

How long does it take to bridge back to Ethereum?

Bridging from Zircuit to Ethereum takes approximately 6 hours due to the rollup's processing time and a mandatory finalization period of 5 hours.

Can I cancel the action of bridging back to Ethereum?

No, it is not possible to cancel it after you have submitted the bridging request.

What can I do with wstETH on Zircuit?

With wstETH on Zircuit, you can explore a variety of DeFi strategies within the Zircuit ecosystem, including lending, borrowing, liquidity provision, and more.

Is Zircuit compatible with my existing Ethereum wallet?

Yes, Zircuit supports all major Ethereum wallets, such as MetaMask You can add the Zircuit Network to your Metamask wallet by following this guide.

How can I view my wstETH balance on Zircuit in my wallet?

If the wallet doesn’t auto detect your wstETH, you can manually import wstETH on Zircuit into your wallet using the contract address found here: https://docs.lido.fi/deployed-contracts/#zircuit
